Players are the most important people in the sport. Playing for the team, and for the team to win, is the most fundamental part of the game.
But not winning at any cost – Fair Play and respect for all others in the game is fundamentally important.
All players should:
Show due respect towards Match Officials and never dispute their decisions, before during or after a game.
Show due respect towards the Team Officials of the opposition.
Encourage, support and help each other.
Look after each other.
Play for the team and work hard for each other.
Involve other team-mates.
Win, lose or draw – show good sportsmanship and shake hands with the opposing team.
Always be on time for training and matches.
Always have the appropriate football kit.
Treat opponents with due respect at all times, irrespective of the result of the game.
Avoid words or actions which may mislead a Match Official.
Abide by the instructions of their Coach and Team Officials.
Blame them for mistakes.
Shout at them.
Swear at them.
Call them names.
Make racist comments.
All players can expect their team-mates not to:
Children should behave in the same way towards their team-mates and friends whether on the football pitch or not.
All players are expected to behave at all times in a manner that will not bring Kenilworth Town Football Club into disrepute in any way.
It is the duty of any team official to report any player who persistently breaches any of the above rules. The issue will then be dealt with by the Disciplinary Committee.
